Layout Concepts and Designs

I have moved onto layouts for the time being and I am having so much fun creating ultimately the set for our story ... the best thing is that I can go wild with ideas and concepts as the film is based in the future.
I wanted to take inspiration from everything technical and electronic and encorporate it into the background and furniture ... as the people have become electronic (eg. TV's for heads) everything they used should be made out of scrap and man-made objects (eg. lamp for a chair, spanners for beertap handles, laptops tv remotes game consoles for a city backdrop etc...)

Rough Animatic

Everything is going well at the moment, we have finally pinned down a storyline for our piece and drew up a rough animatic to show the tutors. I think the group dynamic is good at the moment and I am excited to start making out film ...

More Character Designs for STV

Final character developments for STV ... even though I enjoyed designing the main character I struggled with the character designs for the woman and muscly guy in our film, therefore I havent put any of my designs up for them as it's just plain embaressing ... Phil has taken over the last two characters as he is much much better at character design then I am, however I am pleased with the final look of STV.

I have been given the task of designing the characters for the film and although I know character design isn't my strong point I am going to give it a go and try my best. Here are some of rough drawings of what I thought STV should look like, I wanted to go for the cute, appealing and lovable look with the short dumpiness to his figure. His out-dated head and attire portrays a geeky look and one which I hope the audience will become fond of...

Initial Concept

Some initial concepts I thought up during christmas for our new idea. The direction of the story is still abit vague, however, we are thinking of a storyline portraying the evolution of social communication and how technology has taken over our lives ... literally.
